Virtual Trajectories

Ottake/Reflection

My main two struggles were motivation and time. I wish that I would have done more and started to work on the model sooner. I was scared of starting to retopologize and rig, but at the end it turned out to be extremely satisfying and fun and quite simple actually. The thing that I regret not exploring the most and will be doing it now that I am done is weight painting, I still have not grasped the full concept of it, but it seems like a useful tool to make the characters movement smoother and better. I would also like to further develop my characters look, add details and work on the material/texture. Something that i also did not do which I planned on doing was making a UV for my character so that I can apply hand drawn texture on it. I want to explore how I can make a hand drawn texture look like ceramic, so play around with the values of roughness and smoothness. My rig is one thing I am genuinely happy about, because I think it fits the model quite well although I would love to add toe joints, I think it would look hilarious. Overall the process was amazing and very explorative for me, I am very curious about character design, it is something that I enjoy doing, in the future I want to make Davenchik Glendon’s friends which I mentioned earlier, I have a pretty clear idea of how each of them look, so it would be fun modeling them and bringing them to life.
