Mapping Virtual Practice. Guest Speakers.

Ed Telegov 15.03.2022/19.04.2022

Ed was actually spectacular.
I found him to be an interesting lecturer and appreciated his urge to engage our group to work together on idea generating and collaboration.
Since it was a bit of an internship unit I thought that ed was the best fit as the person starting off as well as ending before Easter Break.
He gave us homework, which honestly in my opinion was very smart because even though probably not many people have done it, it still set some goals for upcoming holiday work.
Personally, I really took every piece of advice he gave about a resume and LinkedIn.
I have written out some things in my padlet:

-Was very knowledgeable and structured his lessons in a mindful way
-Had two lessons each correlated with the previous one
-I enjoyed the homework idea, it ended up motivating me to make a resume and boost my Linkedin (which ended up quadrupling my networking)
-Introduced a few new platforms for developing group practice and collaborative brainstorming
-Had very useful advice on how to get into the industry and the pros and cons for interviews
-Had great resources for job hunting and CV/Portfolio building

Thanks to Ed I made a Resume I am actually proud of, I put it up on LinkedIn and since then have been approached by a couple of companies based in Canada working on 3D Medical Animations. It primarily happened because I have done all the homework during easter since I could not go home.
After all Ed was an interesting and organized tutor with a genuen curiosity towards our group and I appreciate that.
Also the platform which Ed introduced where you can work on genrating some brainstorm using sticky notes.
I had a very nice time in class putting down thoughts or ideas on different promts he had for the group.
It ended up being one of my favourite things.

I have also made a Link Tree portfolio with all of my information:

It is still in progress since I am in the process of figuring out a better way of stringing all of the images and videos of my work, I will be taking a look at ArtStation since it is heavily used in creative tech portfolios.

Also I want to mention before we started the unit I had about 30 connection of LinkedIn and now I have around 160.
It made me thing a bit harder on what to write and inculde in my profile as well as how to reach out to people.

By the end of the

Sadly I wasn’t able to attend Eloise Skinners lesson and as I checked Moodle, there is no recording of it.

Antoines lecture during the first week of May left an inpact on my preceotion of creative technology.
It was great to hear from an artists perspective on the field and a behind the scenes look on how a project is published and how dancers in particular are valid and represented in a way that is creative and innovative..
Here are some notes I wrote on Antoines lecture:

-Had some beautiful work to show (BBC)
-Gave an insightful perspective of a person who works in creative arts
-Is actively using motion capture which is relevant to what we did before
-Was very positive and communicative

I also want to mention that the BBC work he showed was absolutely outstanding and inspiring.
