Comments on the first lesson with Annie
In this lecture I found great number of interesting topics to me, concerning health care/mental health/inclusivity/addressing modern day issues. Personally, I am particularly drawn to the impact that evolving technology like VR can have on serious issues which have been failed to or have had other approaches of handling in the past, without the help of technology. For example, like interactive exercises or musical entertainment as well as surgical interference. Specifically examples that Annie included which concern the application of VR in medicine. The research I have been doing so far has been predominantly focused on surgical training in VR. In my opinion it has huge potential and could be helpful nowadays since the situation with COVID-19 is very unpredictable. Evidently the technology is still not perfected so it is harder to create something that replicates the surgical room and practice, but there isn’t much data on it being not worth researching and developing.
