Environmental design, spatial cinematography. -Composition

So far, I have been thinking a lot about composition, in my opinion it is one of the key elements in VR. It makes or breaks the experience and can help immerse the user. But it can be difficult to guide the attention of VR users inside the experience. Leading lines were talked about in the lecture, that is actually a very useful attribute in my opinion, because usually transportation is showed with a light array line from you to the place where you can teleport. It guides attention. Blocking in VR can also be successful. By using certain boundaries around places/objects or scenes you can shift focus and guide attention to something that either hasn’t been noticed before or is playing an important role in the bigger picture. In terms of shot composing in cinematography in relation to the possibilities of scene navigation, some of the shots could really translate into VR very well, like Long take shot and 3rd person view in VR or crash zoom shot and scaling up/down objects, I think this is good middle ground for VR as it doesn’t cross that boarder of fully guiding the users attention by constant movement, rather tweak the scene around it by maybe making some animations of scale change.
